Job summary

Shurtape Technologies, LLC in Hickory, NC is seeking a Night Shipping Assistant to receive, store, and load finished goods across multiple warehouse locations. You’ll secure cartons, tag pallets, and assist packaging operations in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires a valid forklift license, ability to follow safety procedures and production schedules, plus basic math and computer skills. A reliable team player is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid tow motor/forklift license required.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions, safety protocols and schedules.
• Basic computer skills and math ability for production processes.
• Strong organization, reliability and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent English and ability to read production documents.

Responsibilities

• Secure cartons to be stored and prepared for shipment.
• Load trucks and locate cartons to the proper trailer.
• Unload non-conforming materials and segregate in hold area.
• Tag pallets for correct location and identity.
• Provide pallets to packers and assist in packaging workflows.
• Set up wrappers and additional departmental equipment as needed.
• Enter daily production data onto trailers and systems.
• Wrap finished pallets and maintain safety/housekeeping.
• Support safety programs and keep the work area tidy.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Shipping Assistant position is responsible for receiving finished good for shipment to various warehouse locations. This position will participate in a variety of material management functions including securing cartons, storing materials, and setup departmental equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Secure cartons to be stored
• Load trucks
• Locate cartons to proper truck
• Unload non-conforming or returned materials and segregates in hold area
• Tag pallets for proper location and identity
• Provide packers with pallets
• Set up wrapper and additional departmental equipment
• Key in daily production loaded onto trailers
• Wrap each finished pallet
• Assist in departmental programs of safety and housekeeping

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Valid tow motor/forklift license
• Ability to follow detailed instructions, specifications, and safety protocols

• Speaks fluent English
• Knowledge of basic math; ability to read and understand percentages and decimals
• Manual dexterity with frequent mental and visual attention

• Understanding of NSOPs

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to position and lift 50 - 100 pounds
• Ability to lift, bend, & stoop when required and stand for extended periods
• Extended periods of crouching, squatting, and working with arms positioned above the head
