Job summary

Batesville Tool & Die (BTD) is seeking a Shipping Associate to complete daily shipments, load/unload trucks, and support warehouse operations in Batesville, IN. The role requires forklift experience and basic computer/scanner usage for shipping tasks.

Candidates should have a GED or HS equivalency and prior shipping experience. A general suitability for an entry-level position with opportunity for overtime is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform year-end inventory accurately.
• Count weights precisely.
• Package and label repacks.
• Load and unload OSS parts.
• Shipments verified and scanned for accuracy.
• Use computer/scanner for shipping operations.
• Store/remove parts in racks up to 25 ft height.
• Scan customer parts to ensure exact counts.
• Operate forklift/rack motors and maintain check sheets.
• Fill out shipping documents with accuracy.
• Work with minimal supervision and follow BT&D standards.
• Maintain department cleanliness and order.
• Flex schedule and overtime may be required.

Purpose of Job

This position reports to the Shipping Group Leader, Supervisor and Manager and is responsible for completion of daily shipments and loading / unloading trucks.

Minimum level of education / training required/certificates/licenses

This position prefers a General Educational Diploma (GED) or High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma, entry level position, tow motor experience a plus

Minimum experience required

Experience in shipping and driving a forklift.

Requirements

Essential Responsibilities

1. Accurately performs Yearend inventory.
2. Precisely performs weight counting.
3. Competently packages & labels all repacks
4. Efficiently loads, & unloads OSS(Outside Service Supplier) parts.
5. Accurately loads/unloads & verification of customer freight.
6. Effectively uses computer/scanner functions related to shipping.
7. Correctly stores & removes parts in manifest with rack picker 25ft maximum height.
8. Accurately scans customer parts for shipment to ensure exact counts are shipped.
9. Efficiently operates forklift / rack motors and maintains check sheets.
10. Accurately fills out blank shippers and freight.
11. Resourcefully has the ability to work with little or no supervision.
12. Basic understanding and compliance to Batesville Tool & Die (BTD) Standards and Principles.
13. Responsible for cleaning the department and keeping everything in precise order.
14. Based on company needs a flexible work schedule and/or overtime is needed.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is continually required to stand, sit, walk, twist and bend at waist, use hands to fingers, handle or touch parts while repacking. The employee is frequently required to drive tow motors to move product to appropriate locations. Employee is required reach above shoulders, push and pull boxes from racks and drive rack motors that go up to 25 feet in the air. The employee occasionally is required to climb, kneel, crouch, climb or crawl to get parts. The employee will also be required to frequently lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.
