Job summary

RLC, LLC is seeking a Shipping and Transportation worker to join our team in Broussard, LA. This role involves warehouse work, verifying shipments, and preparing items for shipment, as well as transporting items to local vendors and other company locations using a company vehicle.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Computer knowledge of contact management, database, internet, inventory, order processing, spreadsheets, and word processing software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain log sheet of mileage and gas receipts daily.
• Transport items to and from local vendors.
• Ensure all material is delivered to proper location and packaged to prevent damage.
• Verify items shipped match shipping records or manifest.
• Obtain signatures for pickup and/or deliveries.
• Load and unload items using proper lifting techniques.
• Maintain computerized and hard copy files.
• Perform shipping duties for vendors with FedEx shipping manager and hazmat paperwork if needed.
• Compile shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and related records to determine priorities and methods.
• Ensure materials are boxed/packaged to prevent damage.
• Assist in receiving, storing and delivering tools, items and supplies.

Job description

RLC, LLC is looking for a Shipping and Transportation worker to join our team. This position works in the warehouse and verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. This position also transports items to and from local vendors as well as other company locations by driving a Company vehicle. The schedule is Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Responsibilities

• Maintain log sheet of mileage and gas receipts daily
• Transport items to and from local vendors
• Ensure all material is delivered to the proper location and items are properly packaged to prevent damage
• Verify actual items being shipped match shipping records and/or shipping manifest
• Obtain proper signatures for pickup and/or deliveries
• Load and unload items using proper lifting techniques or lifting aids as required by company policy to prevent personal injury and/or damage to company property
• Maintain various files and records - both computerized and hard copy files
• Perform shipping duties for vendors using FedEx shipping manager ensuring proper documentation available to include hazmat paperwork if necessary
• Compile shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates
• Ensure all material is boxed/packaged to prevent damage
• Assist in receiving, storing and delivering tools, items and supplies

Education and/or Experience

A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required. To perform this job successfully, and individual should have computer knowledge of Contact Management systems; Database software; Internet software, Inventory software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid drivers license is required. Forklift driver certification highly desired.

Ability to work overtime as needed.
