Job summary

M&M Quality Grinding, located in Hodgkins, IL, is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Operator to move materials, prepare shipments, and maintain accurate records in a safe, organized shop floor environment.

Responsibilities include receiving, distributing, and storing products, verifying shipment details, and ensuring documentation accuracy. Forklift experience is a plus; on-the-job training is provided. Multilingual abilities are preferred.

Qualifications

• On-the-job-training or previous machine shop experience.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• No minimum educational requirements.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
• Certification to ride a forklift truck preferred.

• Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other relevant information.
• Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.
• Confirms shipping details or special instructions.
• Transport and loads materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids).
• Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Create and update Work Instructions to document processes accurately and improve efficiency.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to walk, stand, sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel parts. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must be able speak and understand English.The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with appropriate assistance. Must be able to be on feet (not sitting) up to 95% of the time.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Ear protection may be required for certain processes. Closed-toed shoes and eye protection are required for all activity on the shop floor.
