Job summary

Protolabs in Minnesota, Plymouth area, is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Associate II to support fast-paced manufacturing operations. You will handle domestic and international shipments, verify packing lists, maintain records, and collaborate with Logistics and Customer Service to ensure accurate, on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates have warehouse and dock experience, basic ERP knowledge, and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing lists and system records.
• Manage material holds, quarantined inventory, and related follow-up with Customer Service and Planning.
• Organize, store, and transfer inventory to support production demands.
• Process domestic and international shipments with proper documentation.
• Generate and maintain shipping records and resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct quality inspections and ensure proper packaging and protection.
• Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and carriers to coordinate workflow.

The Shipping and Receiving Associate II is a key contributor to our fast-paced manufacturing operation, ensuring the seamless flow of materials and products throughout the supply chain. As a career-level logistics professional, this role leverages deep expertise in Shipping and/or Receiving processes while working across critical business systems including AX, X-Carrier, MES, MRS, and Salesforce. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, partnering with the Logistics team and cross-functional departments to solve challenges, improve efficiency, and keep operations running smoothly. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex tasks, contribute beyond standard procedures, and play an essential role in delivering exceptional results to customers.

What You Will Do:

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing lists and system records, ensuring material accuracy and compliance with safety requirements.
• Manage material holds, quarantined inventory, mystery materials, and related case follow-up while partnering with Customer Service and Planning teams.
• Organize, store, and transfer inventory to support production demands and maintain efficient warehouse operations.
• Process domestic and international shipments, including picking, packing, labeling, documentation, freight coordination, and shipping quotes.
• Generate and maintain accurate shipping records, resolve documentation discrepancies, and manage shipment queues to ensure on-time delivery.
• Conduct quality inspections, select appropriate packaging, and ensure products are protected throughout the shipping process.
• Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records while escalating issues and discrepancies as needed.
• Collaborate with internal teams, customers, vendors, and carriers to coordinate workflow and resolve logistics challenges.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment, including pallet preparation and warehouse storage activities.
• Follow all safety, housekeeping, and compliance requirements to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
• Investigate and resolve shipping, receiving, and inventory issues, providing clear communication and documentation to stakeholders.

• Able to work safely with sharp tools/objects, such as but not limited to, hobby knives, utility knives, pliers

• Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment
• Must be punctual and have good attendance
• Good written and oral communication skills; must be able to write and respond to email (MS Outlook)

$20.14 - $27.26 an hour

Protolabs offers a competitive total rewards package, and compensation mix vary based on position, such as base wage, as well as other earnings including incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, job function, work experience, specialized skills, training, education, and certifications.
