Job summary

The Greenbrier Companies in Washington state is seeking a Warehouse/Materials Handler to support operations by verifying shipments, loading/unloading, and preparing materials for shipment. You will move materials within the plant and perform cycle counts while following safety rules.

You will load/unload using forklifts, document inventory, and ensure correct storage locations. Strong teamwork and ability to follow written and verbal directions are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience in forklift operations.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships and teamwork.
  • Ability to operate equipment used in handling of materials.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all EHS rules and regulations.
  • Safely loads and unloads materials onto form pallets, trays, racks and shelves.
  • Compares identifying information and counts of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Records receipt of incoming materials and equipment
  • Ensures materials are separated and stored in the appropriate locations or bins
  • Documents and enters inventory information into the computer system
  • Reads and interprets work orders in order to ascertain which materials to pull
  • Moves materials from storage location to work site in accordance with the work order
  • Performs cycle counting and physical inventories
  • Uses steel cutters, crowbar, clawhammer or other hand tools to open containers.

Summary

This position provides support to operations by being responsible for verifying and keeping records of incoming and outgoing shipments, and may prepare materials for shipment. This position will also be responsible for loading, unloading and moving materials within or near the plant, yard or work site.
