Job summary

Craig Taylor Equipment in Fairbanks is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving associate to join our team. The role focuses on ensuring smooth and accurate flow of materials in a fast-paced facility, with emphasis on keeping precise shipping records and safe handling of goods.

The position requires ability to load/unload, operate a forklift, and cooperate with multiple departments. Starting wage is shown below and benefits are available after probationary periods.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.
Basic understanding of dock, and warehouse procedures.

Responsibilities

Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments.
Maintains shipping records for categories including goods returned, dunnage, and returnable pallets.
Maintains database of shipment data to ensure customer orders are updated and appropriate billing documents are provided.
Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
Prepares bills of lading and dray tickets for shipments.
Completes information on damage claims for in-transit damage.
Transports materials on shipping dock with a hand truck or other vehicle as needed.
Loads trucks or railroad car using a forklift.
Performs other clerical duties.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipping and Receiving to join our team. The Shipping and Receiving will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials and products in and out of our facility. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Some of the duties of this position:

Able to work 40+ hrs per week.

Have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Must be able to work a rotating Saturday schedule in the summer

A little about the physical requirements:

The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by the team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Team members must be able to lift at least 40 pounds on a regular basis and be able to stand for long periods of time. Bending, lifting, and pushing will also be required.
