Job summary

AVK Industrial Products, a Precision Castparts Company, located in Valencia, CA, is seeking a Level One shipping/packaging clerk. You will load/unload, verify orders, package finished goods, and maintain accurate inventory while using a forklift and basic computer systems.

The role requires 0-1 year of experience in aerospace/automotive manufacturing, and a high school diploma or GED. Applicants should be prepared to operate packaging equipment and handle routine data entry tasks.

Qualifications

• 0-1 year minimum experience in aerospace/automotive manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Forklift certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
• Compare identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of finished goods to verify against work orders.
• Determine method of shipment and packaging.
• Pull, pack, weigh, and label products based on daily orders.
• Affix labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying information on cartons.
• Insert items into containers.
• Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications and documentation.
• Process appropriate documentation.
• Maintain inventory of shipping and packaging materials and supplies.
• Operate forklift, tier lift truck or use handtruck to move items.
• Enter data into computer system for inventory records and tracking purposes.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Level One: Under direct supervision, level one shipping/packaging clerks complete basic shipping and packaging tasks such as loading and unloading trucks, verifying packaging slips and order contents, performing visual inspection, as well as packaging product for either outside processing or finished goods. Level one shipping and packaging clerks will demonstrate basic packaging skills such as part protection, verify packaging information, boxing, taping, wrapping, stenciling, banding, weighing, etc. All shipping and packaging clerks will be forklift certified and may be expected to demonstrate basic computer skills. 0-1 YOE
