Akima seeks a reliable Shipper/Packer for the COSIS warehouse at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The role involves packing, labeling, and preparing shipments using automated systems to ensure timely order fulfillment. Candidates should be US citizens, able to pass background checks and drug screens, and hold a valid driver's license.

Experience with warehouse operations and CAC eligibility is preferred. This is an on-site position with competitive benefits and a pay range around $25.00 per hour,

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Shipper/Packer for the Care of Supplies in Storage (COSIS) warehouse on Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Responsibilities

• This job involves preparing products for shipment by packing them securely, labeling packages accurately, and ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment using the applicable automated systems.
• Someone in this position prepares finished products for shipment or storage by placing them in shipping containers, the specific operations performed being dependent upon the type, size, and number of units to be packed, the type of container employed, and method of shipment.
• Work requires the placing of items in shipping containers and may involve one or more of the following.
• knowledge of various items of stock in order to verify content, selection of appropriate type and size of container, inserting enclosures in container; using excelsior or other material to prevent breakage or damage, closing and sealing container, and applying labels or entering identifying data on container. Exclude packers who also make wooden boxes or crates

Qualifications

• Mustbe a US Citizen.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must be able to pass random drug testing.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain aCommon Access Card (CAC).
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
• Valid Driver’s License.

Desired Qualifications:

• Completed prerequisite training for Army Military Occupational Specialty (MOS)92YUnit Supply Specialistor have equivalent training with 4-6 years of experience in the grade of E-5 to E-6.
• Prior experience in a warehouse, shipping, or related role.
• Familiarity with the operation of Powered IndustrialTrucks.
• Knowledge of theGCSS-Army.
• Experience with Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS).
• Experience with Federal logistics Information System (FEDLOG).
