Job summary

Georg Fischer Central Plastics LLC seeks a dedicated Warehouse/Shipping Associate to join our production and distribution team. You will operate lift trucks, scan orders with RF devices, and assist in picking, packing, and shipping while following all safety and ISO procedures.

The role requires adherence to quality standards, ability to lift 50-75 lbs, and effective teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Training and certification are provided by GF Central Plastics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent (desired).
• Knowledge of manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Must be certified by GF Central Plastics for lift truck use and maintenance.
• Must pass GF Central Plastics lift truck test.
• Must be able to use Oracle and understand priority scheduling.
• Self-motivated to work quickly and accurately with little supervision.
• Ability to work closely with others in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow all company policies and safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure guards and safety equipment are installed and checked.
• Follow ISO 9001, 14001, and OSHAS 18001 requirements.
• Perform daily safety inspections per lift per shift.
• Package merchandise for shipment using pallet-jack, stand up reach forklift, banding, shrink-wrap, and related tools.
• Use RF gun (SAP) to scan locations and boxes/pallets for pick/pack/ship.
• Load trucks and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Maintain regular attendance per supervisor schedule.
• Maintain a safe working environment for all employees.

Primary Responsibilities

• Required to understand and follow all company policies and procedures.
• Required to understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all guards and safety equipment have been installed and properly checked.
• Required to understand and follow work procedures as set forth by all ISO documentation.
• Required to perform daily safety inspections per lift per shift.
• Use pallet-jack, staple gun, paper machine, bubble machine, weigh scale, banding equipment, and shrink-wrap machine to package merchandise for shipment.
• Use wireless RF gun (SAP) to scan every location and every box/pallet, to pick, pack, and ship customer orders.
• Safely operate stan up reach, high bay order picker to pick and load trucks.
• Work overtime as needed to maintain customer service.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with co-workers, line lead, team leader, supervisor, and manager.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
• Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality, 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18001 verification requirements.
• Requires regular attendance per the schedule assigned by supervisor.
• Responsible to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.

Knowledge and Skill Requirement

• High school diploma or its equivalent, desired.
• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within manufacturing environment.
• Certified by Georg Fischer Central Plastics in the proper use and maintenance of lift trucks.
• Must be able to pass Georg Fischer Central Plastics test in the proper use and maintenance of lift trucks.
• Must be able to use Oracle and understand priority scheduling system.
• Must be self-motivated to work quickly and accurately with little supervision.
• Must be able to work closely with others in a fast paced environment.

Environmental / Atmospheric Conditions

Typical office/factory environment with possibility of exposure to heat in production areas as well as heat in the summer and cold in the winter.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs in a safe manner.
• Must be able to perform repetitive motion.
• Walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more with the ability to judge depth and space relationships and bring object into sharp focus.
• Must be able to accurately recognize and translate numbers without transposing.
• Exposure to machine noise levels (hearing protection required in manufacturing only).
• Exposure to heavy equipment or components needed to produce product (safety toed shoes required).
• Exposure to electrical and mechanical moving parts.
• Exposure to sparks, chips, and dust (eye protection required).
