Job summary
Disney Cruise Line is seeking an Automation Operator to manage Entertainment Automation Systems on the Walt Disney Theater, coordinating stage movements and rigging for Broadway/West End style productions on board. You will report to Senior Technician WDT and operate at officer level on ship.
Responsibilities include operating automation systems, maintaining rigging safety, training in outdoor rigging, and supporting load in/out, new shows, tests, and events across the vessel.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years show production experience in a similar role.
- Experience operating computerized automation control equipment.
- Experience or qualifications in a theatrical/Entertainment-based rigging operation.
- Proficiency with hydraulics, electronics, electric motors, motor drives and controls.
- Ability to work at heights and with heavy equipment.
Responsibilities
- Manage operation of Entertainment Automation Systems on stage and during shows.
- Oversee maintenance and safe operation of rigging equipment for outdoor shows and events.
- Train in all outdoor rigging positions to safely operate during shows.
- Contribute to load in/load outs, cast changes, new show installations, equipment tests and vendor support.
