Job summary

Disney Cruise Line seeks a qualified Physician to evaluate and treat crew and guests aboard a ship. You will report to the Chief Physician (Shore side) and Lead Physician (Shipboard) and work within ACEP guidelines and vessel safety protocols.

Role requires STCW medical credentials, pediatric care experience, and a commitment to living at sea. Comprehensive benefits accompany a shipboard contract with ongoing safety training.

Qualifications

• 3 years recent medical experience in general and emergency medicine, trauma care or critical care.
• Background treating pediatric patients (emergency, inpatient, or outpatient).
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Digital literacy with MS Office programs and electronic health records.

Responsibilities

• Supervise shore referrals and medical debarks of Crew Members with Shoreside Medical Services.
• Monitors Crew unfit for duty.
• Provide accurate communication with Medical Services shore personnel regarding Guest medical debarks.
• Consults with Senior Physician for medical disembarks decisions.
• Maintain open lines of communications with the leaders of the other ship’s departments.
• Responsible for accuracy and completeness of all reports prior to submittal.
• Follows ACEP Guidelines, Vessel Sanitation Program Manual and Book of Privileges for Officers.
• Attend drills scheduled by the Safety Officer as assigned.
• Provide training for Emergency Stretcher Team.
• Participates in duties common to onboard staff (lifeboat drills, duties assigned by Captain, safety).
• Accurate use of Controlled Substance handling and disposal.
• Assist with implementation of crew immunization programs.
