Job summary

Delphinus Engineering LLC in Chula Vista, CA, seeks an experienced Electrician to perform electrical work on Navy shore facilities, waterborne vessels, and submarines. Duties include inspections, repairs, modernization, and alterations, with potential supervisory responsibilities.

Candidates should have 5–10 years of verifiable industrial experience, trade school training, read blueprints, and pass a background check for security clearances.

Qualifications

• Must have 5–10 years of verifiable experience as an electrician in an industrial environment such as shipbuilding, ship repair, or nuclear plants.
• Completion of a formal related trade program or apprenticeship.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and maintenance manuals.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security badge for government facilities.
• Strong troubleshooting, testing, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and test electrical systems on Navy shore facilities and ships, including submarines.
• Install and test analogue-to-digital interfaces and Programmable Logic Controllers.
• Install, connect, and test fiber optic plant equipment.
• Perform voltage and electrical safety checks and repairs.
• Repair motors, switches, radios, panels, and lighting equipment.
• Connect panels, switches, and distribution boxes and pull cables as needed.
• Read drawings and assist lead in identifying discrepancies.
• May supervise small teams of electricians.
• Fill out objective quality evidence (OQE) forms and follow safety procedures.
• Travel to other locations as required.
