Job summary

Serco is seeking Experienced Mechanical Assemblers to support U.S. Navy shipboard installations in Newport News, VA. You will join a dynamic team assembling electromechanical systems and reading drawings to ensure precise integration.

The role requires shipboard experience, power-tool proficiency, and the ability to work shifts with potential overtime. A secret clearance and OSHA certification are desirable as part of the transition.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience using power tools and assembling mechanical assemblies.
  • 5 years of shipboard experience and ability to obtain a secret clearance.
  • Experience reading drawings and blueprints to guide assembly work.
  • Ability to work second or third shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Able to work in high heat spaces, lift up to 50 pounds, and travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Follow blueprints and diagrams to fabricate and assemble electromechanical assemblies.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and report malfunctions.
  • Operate light machinery and equipment as required.
  • Work on-board U.S. Naval Ships and military installations.
  • Ensure safety and PPE compliance during shifts.
