Job summary

General Dynamics - Bath Iron Works in Maine seeks an Electrical Engineer to support development, specification, arrangement, manufacturing, installation, and testing of shipboard electrical power, lighting, and controls systems. The successful candidate will interface with Navy and other customers, perform systems engineering tasks, and contribute to safety, reliability, and cost-out initiatives.

A BS in electrical engineering is required, with a Master’s preferred; candidates must be US

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree is required.
  • A Master's degree in Engineering or P.E. is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Power and Controls Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop ship power and controls systems through tasks and projects across disciplines, subcontractors, or the customer.
  • Perform reliability/risk assessments on designs, methodologies, or processes.
  • Perform systems engineering, system integration, or project tasking including requirements analyses and management of budget and schedule.
  • Develop/maintain technical leadership for diagrams, calculations, models, and related tasking.
  • Review/approve vendor equipment and engineering documentation produced for external contracts.
  • Interface with Navy and other customers and internal teams to support manufacturing, test, commissioning and trials.
  • Develop and implement process improvements and cost-out initiatives.
