Job summary

General Dynamics NASSCO in San Diego seeks an estimator to develop labor and material estimates for shop and shipboard repair work on US Government vessels. You will solicit subcontractor and material price proposals and deliver timely government proposals, coordinating with office and field teams.

Work primarily from the office with frequent job-site inspections; collaborate with trades, supervisors, and managers to scope estimates and ensure compliance with NAVSEA standards and ANCHOR

Qualifications

• High school graduate; related trade experience or coursework desirable.
• Knowledge of shipboard nomenclature and layout is desirable; frequent site visits.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and clarify requirements with Government customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost and price proposals containing all information needed to accomplish growth work.
• Develop and maintain documentation supporting Estimate development, Procurement, and Production execution (e.g., ANCHOR).
• Adhere to NASSCO Standards and Business Conduct; other duties as assigned.
