Job summary

MACOM is seeking a Shift Manager for Semiconductor Wafer Fabrication in its Durham, NC fab. You will oversee production and operations on a compressed work week, driving safety, throughput, yield, and on-time delivery for your shift.

The role requires a BS in Engineering and a minimum of 5 years in engineering/manufacturing management, with U.S. ITAR eligibility. Strong leadership, analytics, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with collaboration across Fab teams.

Qualifications

  • Min 5 years of engineering and/or manufacturing management.
  • BS in Engineering.
  • U.S. Persons required due to ITAR regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Safely manage Fab performance metrics including safety, revenue, throughput, cycle time, yield and on-time delivery for the shift.
  • Collaborate with Fab engineering, Equipment, Quality and Facility teams.
  • Manage WIP and ensure on-time delivery to commitments.
  • Staffing: hiring, training, retention, dismissal, and employee relations; enforce policies.
  • Build and maintain a high-performance culture across the shift.
  • Lead continuous improvement of operations, yield, and business systems.
  • Drive productivity improvements and cost-reduction projects across shifts.
  • Lead standardization initiatives across shifts.

Shift Manager - Semiconductor Wafer Fabrication
Position Overview

Responsible for production and operational activities within the Fab on a compressed work week

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for Fab performance Metrics , including but not limited to Safety, Revenue, Throughput, Cycle time, Yield and on time delivery commits for their shift team.
  • Work In close collaboration with the Fab engineering, Equipment, Quality and Facility teams.
  • Responsible for WIP management and on-time delivery to commits.
  • Staffing: hiring, training, retention, dismissal, and employee relations. Enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Create and maintain a high-performance culture.
  • Drive continuous improvement of operational procedures, yield, and business systems.
  • Lead Productivity improvement and cost reduction projects across the shifts
  • Drive standardization activities/systems/protocols across shifts.
Key Competencies & Skills required
  • Excellent people management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Very strong knowledge of semiconductor processing and basic device physics.
  • Result driven Mindset
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Proficient with statistical methods used in manufacturing: SPC, DOE.
  • Excel and Power point proficiency
  • Proficient in Structured Problem Solving

Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Min 5 years of engineering and/or manufacturing management.
  • BS in Engineering.
