Job description

Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. Trainees perform assigned tasks to develop management skills, learn about the business (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service), and understand CVS/pharmacy culture. Successful completion of the program may lead to promotion opportunities supporting store management in driving performance and customer satisfaction. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff and ensures smooth operations, including opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
  2. Work effectively with store management and staff.
  3. Supervise store crew by assigning, directing, and following up on activities.
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff.
  1. Customer Service
  2. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
  3. Promote CVS customer service culture (greeting, offering help, thanking).
  4. Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  5. Maintain customer confidentiality.
Qualifications

Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, and flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred: Retail experience.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details

Hours: 20 hours/week

Type: Part-time

Pay Range: $16.00 - $23.00/hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
