Job description

Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. Trainees perform assigned work to develop management skills, complete training, and learn about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and understanding CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are considered for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support store management by driving store performance and ensuring smooth operations when managers are not onsite, including overseeing opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
  2. Work effectively with store management and staff.
  3. Supervise store crew by assigning tasks, directing activities, and following up.
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff.
  5. Customer Service
  6. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
  7. Promote CVS customer service culture by greeting, offering help, and thanking customers.
  8. Handle customer relations issues according to company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  9. Maintain customer confidentiality.
Required Qualifications

Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, and advanced communication skills. Flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail.
Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Additional Details

Anticipated weekly hours: 25
Time type: Part-time
Pay range: $17.25 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience and other factors.
