Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare an employee for higher-level supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop management skills, completes training in key business areas like customer loyalty and CVS/pharmacy culture, and prepares for future leadership responsibilities.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisor positions. These roles support store management in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
    • Work effectively with store management and staff
    • Supervise store crew activities, including assigning and following up
    • Communicate effectively with management and staff
  2. Customer Service
    • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
    • Promote CVS customer service culture: greet, offer help, thank
    • Handle customer relations issues per company policy
    • Maintain customer confidentiality
Qualifications
  • Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, flexible schedule including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Preferred: Retail experience.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
Additional Details
  • Anticipated weekly hours: 25
  • Time type: Part time
  • Pay range: $17.95 per hour; actual offer depends on experience and other factors
