Job summary

Meow Wolf is seeking a Retail Shift Supervisor in Las Vegas to lead daily retail operations and support the Manager on Duty role. You will guide a team, coach staff, and ensure safe, engaging guest experiences in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Retail Manager, you’ll manage inventory, POS procedures, scheduling, and interdepartment collaboration while upholding Meow Wolf’s culture of belonging and creativity.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of supervisory experience in retail or high-traffic environment.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to stay calm, prioritize tasks, and lead by example in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with or willing to learn POS and scheduling platforms.
• Must be 21+ with the ability to obtain/maintain alcohol service licensing.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
• Support daily retail responsibilities including opening/closing procedures, monitor staffing, restocking, inventory control, loss prevention, and task assignments.
• Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD), ensuring safety, operations, and guest experience throughout the exhibition.
• Provide on-the-floor coaching and issue corrective actions.
• Support team members, promote teamwork, ensure accountability, and deliver guest-first service.
• Respond to operational issues, guest escalations, and minor emergencies, escalating when appropriate.
• Monitor and adjust hourly labor usage to align with plans and guest volume in real time.
• Maintain a clean, organized, fully operational environment including exhibits, lighting, sound, and functionality.
• Support frontline operations with retail coverage and sales.
• Assist BOH operations including shipping and invoicing guest orders.
• Receive, unload, stock and manage inventory for smooth shift operations.
• Enforce POS procedures and assist with end-of-day reporting.
• Document shift updates and incidents to Retail Manager.
• Foster cross-department collaboration and uphold Meow Wolf culture of belonging, creativity, safety.
• Lead staff training, onboarding and mentoring per SOPs.
• Other duties as assigned.

At Meow Wolf, our Shift Supervisors are critical frontline leaders who ensure the daily magic runs smoothly. Reporting to the Retail Manager, the Retail Shift Supervisor assists in ensuring the business success of the retail department, and will assist all departments as Manager on Duty (MOD). They act as a key connector between departments, provide onsite leadership support to team members, and uphold safety, guest experience, and Meow Wolf values. Responsibilities include supervision of retail team members, provide coaching and corrective actions, and ensure daily profitability of retail operations and revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
• Support and complete daily retail responsibilities including: opening and closing procedures, monitor team attendance/staffing levels, restocking, inventory control, loss prevention, uphold company policies and procedures, and task assignment to team members.
• Serve as the Manager on Duty (MOD), acting as a visible and engaged supervisor who ensures safety, operational flow, and a high-quality guest experience throughout the exhibition.
• Provide on-the-floor coaching and issue corrective actions.
• Support team members, promote teamwork, ensure accountability, and provide guest-first service.
• Respond to operational issues, guest escalations, and minor emergencies, escalating when appropriate and handling sensitive matters with discretion and confidentiality.
• Using direction provided by the Retail Manager, monitor and effectively adjust hourly labor usage, staff breaks, and shift transitions to align with daily staffing plans and guest volume. Adjust coverage as needed in real time.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully operational environment by overseeing exhibit readiness, cleanliness, lighting, sound, and general functionality.
• Support frontline operations by jumping in to assist with retail coverage and sales.
• Support BOH retail operations, including shipping and invoicing guest orders.
• Receive, unload, stock, and manage inventory levels to ensure smooth shift operations.
• Enforce POS procedures and assist with end-of-day reporting and reconciliation.
• Document and communicate shift updates, incidents, and operational issues to the Retail Manager.
• Foster cross-department collaboration and uphold Meow Wolf’s culture of belonging, creativity, and safety.
• Lead staff training, onboarding, and mentoring following department SOPs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 1–2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a high-traffic, retail, guest-facing environment (museum, FEC, theme park, hospitality, etc.)
• Strong communication, de-escalation, and leadership skills
• Ability to stay calm, prioritize tasks, and lead by example in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment
• Proficient with or willing to learn POS and scheduling platforms
• Must be 21+ with the ability to obtain or maintain any local licensing required for alcohol service (TIPS, Food Handler, etc.)
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.

Work Environment:

This position works primarily in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines and small and/ or enclosed spaces.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical ability to walk, stand, take stairs/slides/elevators, and navigate the elements during the day and night. Employee may be required to remain in a sitting or standing position for prolonged periods, and repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
