Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a proactive Shift Supervisor to join our Mt. Jewett, PA MDF facility. This 2nd shift role includes weekend coverage and occasional coverage for other supervisors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree acceptable.
• 3+ years supervisory or team management experience, or a bachelor’s degree.
• Ability to work 8- or 12-hour rotating shifts including weekends.
• Knowledge of general safe work practices and problem solving/root cause analysis.
• Proficiency with MS Office and production reporting systems.

Responsibilities

Georgia-Pacific is currently seeking a proactiveShift Supervisorto join ourMt. Jewett, PA MDFfacility. The role will be responsible for our 2 nd shift with some weekend coverage. In some cases, the role requires coverage for other supervisors. This leader will manage, mentor and coach a team of up to eighteen production associates to achieve production, quality, safety, and reliability targets at our Medium Density Fiber Board (MFD) manufacturing site in Mt. Jewett, PA.

Georgia-Pacific in Kane, PA manufactures Medium Density Fiberboard that is used for cabinetry, interior decoration, doors and moldings, retail and commercial displays and residential and light commercial construction applications. What You Will Do

• Facilitating team development and growth, employee skill development, problem-solving, and resolution; building employee commitment and ownership and holding employees accountable.
• Identifying and executing initiatives that will help drive improvements in competitive position, delivering value to the business, and to meet Clarendon’s key drivers’ objectives.
• Supervising and coordinating production efforts to drive continuous improvement in all associated work processes affecting EHS, compliance, reliability, quality, production, and costs.
• Leading a wood products production team to work injury-free/incident free in a continuous manufacturing process.
• Fostering an environment consistent with Principle Based Management philosophy and framework.
• Driving safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively eliminate hazards.
• Monitoring product quality and providing direction to crew members to maximize production efficiency; providing safety training to crew members; providing coaching, team development/performance management through Principle Based Management processes; mentoring crew members to enable them to develop their Knowledge/Skills/Abilities for career advancement.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory/team management experience OR a bachelor’s degree
• Knowledge of general safe work practices
• Problem solving/Root Cause Analysis
• Demonstrated organizational and planning skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) and ability to learn various PC-Based production reporting systems applications
• Able to work an 8- or 12-hour rotating shift schedule - days/evenings/weekends.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
