Job summary

Pet Supplies Plus—MPM Retail Holdings is seeking a Shift Supervisor to support store operations and lead the team during assigned shifts at our Greensboro, NC location. This entry-level leadership role will act as Manager on Duty, ensuring neighbor service, animal care, safety, and operational execution are met.

You will train and coach team members, oversee opening/closing, handle cash and back-office tasks, and assist with stock, merchandising, and store recovery.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Ability to provide direction and make appropriate decisions while serving as Manager on Duty.
• Dependable with reliable transportation.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
• Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate required store equipment after completing appropriate training.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Manager on Duty when assigned and provide direction to team members throughout the shift.
• Lead by example and reinforce expectations for neighbor service, teamwork, productivity, and professionalism.
• Assign daily tasks, follow up on completion, and provide real-time coaching and feedback.
• Assist with training and onboarding team members.
• Resolve routine neighbor concerns and escalating significant issues when appropriate.
• Execute opening and closing procedures, cash handling, deposits, and assigned back-office responsibilities.
• Support daily stocking and down stocking, truck processing, merchandising, price changes, inventory accuracy, and store recovery.
• Maintain standards for cleanliness, animal care, safety, security, and overall store conditions.
• Communicate team, operational, or safety concerns to store management.
• Perform nail trims and other approved services when trained and required.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on the needs of the business.

The Shift Supervisor is an entry-level leadership position responsible for supporting store management and effectively leading the team during assigned shifts. Shift Supervisors serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) when assigned and help ensure expectations for neighbor service, team performance, store conditions, animal care, safety, and operational execution are met.
