Job summary

International Paper is seeking a Shift Superintendent in Biglerville, PA, supervising one or more shifts of hourly employees on the night shift (6PM - 6AM) to uphold safety, quality and productivity. The role requires leadership to maintain high morale and ensure adherence to quality checks and maintenance coordination.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED, supervisory experience (3+ years) and experience in the corrugated packaging sector.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• College/technical coursework preferred.
• Prior experience in the corrugated packaging industry required.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the supervision, directing and leadership of one or more assigned shifts of hourly employees in safety, quality, productivity and engagement to ensure goals are met.
• Oversee all corrugator/converting supervisors and employees in the areas of safety, productivity, quality and housekeeping, while leading and motivating employees to work efficiently and effectively, ensuring a safe work environment, and a quality product.
• Establish high morale within your department by showing fairness, consistency, and an interest in employee problems. Maintain confidentiality.
• Ensure compliance of all quality checks; coordinate upkeep of machinery with Maintenance team to minimize downtime; assist in troubleshooting machine problems.
• Oversee training employees, planning and assigning work.
• Report to Manufacturing Manager any issues that might affect overall production or plant operations.

$75,800 - $101,000

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s annual incentive plan.
