Job summary

Novo Nordisk in Clayton, NC seeks a Manager, Shift Operations API (M-F Night shift) to lead tactical and long-term production and project controls. You will drive safety, quality, and on-time performance while building a capable operations team and solving complex cross-functional challenges.

Primary focus on standardization, process improvements, and staff development to meet site goals and NNWay standards. Must have API process knowledge and strong leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or industry equivalent education & experience required.
• Minimum of five years of leadership/management/supervisory experience.
• Knowledgeable in API processes; Lean Six Sigma preferred; strong business understanding.
• Ability to read and understand complex product documentation and SOPs.
• Mentoring, change management, planning, and cross-functional teamwork experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive a safe workplace culture and ensure safety/environmental requirements are met.
• Ensure robust processes to exceed quality objectives and requirements.
• Drive project performance on the shift to meet business needs.
• Eliminate issues and simplify processes.
• Align process activities with lead time targets.
• Set direction based on site goals.
• Drive process performance to meet business and customer needs.
• Drive operational standardization and collaboration with other shift teams.
• Operate the process in the Lean way.
• Manage personnel issues (hire/fire, vacation planning, etc.).
• Coach and develop direct reports focusing on NNWay essentials.
• Integrate quality and business ethics into decisions.
• Confirm project and process standards.
• Other accountabilities as assigned.
