Job summary

Wegmans is seeking motivated individuals in McLean, VA for a structured 6-month training program designed to groom future Team Leaders. You will gain hands-on experience, with a mentor and trainer guiding your development and an interview or placement upon completion.

Responsibilities include managing performance, delivering outstanding customer service and solving operational challenges with the leadership team. A strong preference for prior customer service experience is noted.

Customer service experience, preferably in a food service, grocery, or retail setting; Managerial/supervisory experience living our values and achieving results in our 5 measures; Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as medium. Work includes walking, standing for long periods, repetitive hand and arm movements, occasional heavy lifting, bending, climbing, and reaching, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. May be asked to work at cash register station (see Cashier). The average weight range of items lifted is 5 – 20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 50 pounds occasionally. You may receive assistance with heavy items, if available. Upper extremity repetition is moderate and trunk movement involves moderate twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors with occasional exposure to cold (33° – 55°) temperatures near hot equipment (exceeds 135°) and seasonal outdoor temperatures and weather. Basic tools and equipment used include computer and handheld telephone and may also include walkie reach/hi-lo, powered pallet jack, and scissors lift.
