Job summary

Location: Union City, CA — Jamba is seeking a Shift Leader to supervise daily operations, guide a team of 1–8, and ensure quality smoothie and quick-service production. You will manage shifts in a fast-paced setting, deliver excellent guest service, and uphold brand standards while training staff at nearby locations.

Responsibilities include staffing decisions, line duties, cash handling, and maintaining food safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent Certification required.
• Current or recent food/retail service experience preferred.
• Able to work minimum 20-25 hours per week, including nights and weekends.
• Computer skills including some Microsoft software and register skills.
• Able to lift 30-40 pounds regularly during shifts.
• Must pass food safety certification.
• Able to train at nearby location.

Overview:

A Shift Leader at Jamba is responsible for the overall shift operations, sales performance, and execution of brand excellence in the absence of the Assistant General Manager and/or General Manager. In this role, you will supervise a team of 1 to 8 talented team members and ensure smoothie, juice, bowl, and quick food item production. Providing exceptional guest service is a high priority for us as we have the pleasure of serving our great community. Join us in our fast-paced and fun work environment!

Additional Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or equivalent Certification
• Current or recent food/retail service experience
• Able to work minimum 20-25 hours per week, including nights and weekends
• Computer skills including some Microsoft software and register skills
• Able to lift 30-40 pounds regularly throughout a four to eight-hour shift
• Ability to be mobile in walk-in refrigerator and freezer with temperatures ranging from 40° F to -10° F
• Ability to embody Jamba culture & values – will make a good representative to the Jamba Brand (i.e. energy, fun, self-starter)
• Non-slip shoes and CA food handlers card required
• Able to pass food safety certification (provided by employer)
• Able to train at nearby location

Essential Responsibilities and Skills:

• Lead and manage shifts while acting as manager in charge of the store. Deploy team members as required to meet business demands and make necessary staffing decisions.
• Communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately to ensure effective shift operations.
• Work the line and perform all tasks related to Jamba operational standards. Act as a role model at each station in the store.
• Ensure exceptional customer service is delivered on every shift.
• Follow all food safety, cash handling, and operations procedures and policies.
• Ensure proper financial accountability during each shift.
• Delegate both routine and important tasks and decisions effectively and comfortably.
• Create an environment in which Team Members are motivated to do their best.
