Job summary

The Smoked Taco - St George is seeking a Shift Leader to guide restaurant operations during assigned shifts, delivering exceptional guest experiences and leading a motivated team. You will set examples, coach crew members, and uphold standards in a fast-paced setting.

As a leader, you’ll train new staff, ensure food safety and quality, and collaborate with management to drive smooth daily operations and guest satisfaction.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe restaurant environment.
• Monitor food quality, cleanliness, and operational standards.
• Manage shift execution, including opening and closing tasks.
• Assist with inventory, rotation, and minimizing waste.
• Handle guest concerns professionally and resolve issues.
• Support the General Manager and Assistant Manager with daily operations

What You’ll Do

As a Shift Leader, you'll help lead the restaurant during your assigned shifts while creating an environment where both guests and team members can thrive.

Your responsibilities include:

• Leading the team during assigned shifts by setting the example through positive leadership and exceptional customer service
• Delivering fast, friendly, and memorable guest experiences
• Preparing fresh, high-quality food while ensuring company standards are consistently met
• Coaching, supporting, and motivating Crew Members throughout each shift
• Assisting with training and onboarding new team members
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and food-safe restaurant environment
• Monitoring food quality, cleanliness, and operational standards
• Managing shift execution, including opening and closing responsibilities
• Assisting with inventory, product rotation, and minimizing food waste
• Handling guest concerns professionally and creating positive resolutions
• Supporting the General Manager and Assistant Manager with daily restaurant operations

What We're Looking For

• Have previous restaurant, food service, retail, or customer service experience
• Have leadership experience or are ready to take the next step into a leadership role
• Lead by example with a positive attitude and strong work ethic

• Communicate effectively with guests and teammates
• Take ownership, demonstrate accountability, and solve problems with confidence
• Are dependable, organized, and committed to delivering outstanding results

Previous Shift Leader or supervisory experience is preferred, but we're happy to develop individuals who have strong leadership potential and a desire to grow.

Requirements

• Ability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Reliable attendance and transportation
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Must meet applicable age requirements for operating certain equipment where required by state or local regulations
• Food safety certification may be required and will be provided through training if applicable
