Caribou Coffee is seeking a Shift Leader to oversee daily coffeehouse operations in Minneapolis. You will guide the team to uphold brand standards, guest connections, and safe, efficient service while driving sales and minimizing waste.

Qualifications

• Leadership role experience or trained for Shift Leader responsibilities.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate mastery of every Team Member responsibility with confidence and enthusiasm.
• Lead shifts with energy to keep the team engaged and the shift on track.
• Optimize product sales while managing waste and maintaining a clean, inviting environment.
• Know the day’s deployment and roles, and communicate clearly on the floor.
• Read team needs, delegate objectives, and set up smooth hand-offs between shifts.
• Own the shift and manage a seamless transition to the next team.
• Ensure SOPs are followed, and standards for quality, cash handling, and safety are met.
• Coach and train team members on responsibilities, products, and promotions.
• Complete administrative tasks timely, including deposits, inventory, and orders.
• Develop Team Members through timely coaching and feedback.

Shift Leader

The Shift Leader is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the coffeehouse in partnership with the General Manager or the Assistant General Manager. The Shift Leader makes sure the team has a clear understanding of brand standards, expectations, products, cleanliness, new directives, and Guest connections during the shift.

Core Responsibilities

• Demonstrates mastery of every Team Member responsibility with confidence, enthusiasm, and excellence
• Leads shifts with an unwavering commitment to Make Fun Happen - keeping the team engaged, the energy up, and the shift on track
• Optimizes product sales while effectively managing waste and maintaining an inviting, well- executed coffeehouse environment.
• Knows the day's deployment and the roles tied to it, communicating clearly on the floor to keep the shift moving.
• Reads the needs of the team, anticipates the shift's competing priorities, and delegates objectives and tasks accordingly
• Takes ownership of the current shift and sets up a smooth hand-off for the shift that follows
• Ensures the team executes standard operating procedures and upholds Caribou's standards for quality, cash handling, and store safety and security
• Coaches and trains the team in the moment - on role responsibilities, product knowledge, promotions, and recipe prep, including adjustments for a guest's request
• Performs administrative tasks timely with integrity and follow-through, including bank deposits, inventory, and product orders
• Actively develops Team Members, providing coaching and feedback in the moment
• Brings the Core Values to life in all that you do: Support One Another, Make Fun Happen, Be Yourself, Take Ownership, Serve With Love
• Owns the decision-making that comes with being Manager on Duty, staying resilient and calm under pressure

• Trains new team members on role responsibilities, product knowledge, and promotional items
• Arrives on time for every scheduled shift, prepared and ready to contribute to the team's success.

Skills and Qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience in a leadership role , or properly trained and approved to take on Shift Leader responsibilities
• To support the needs of the business and the team, Shift Leaders are expected to maintain flexible availability. While hiring may be based on current scheduling needs, Shift Leaders may be required to work different days, times, or shifts as business and operational needs change.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Preferred: High school diploma or GED equivalent

Address: | 1730 New Brighton Blvd , Minneapolis, Minnesota 55413 | Compensation Range: $12.75 - $21.25 per hour *Starting pay is subject to Local and State Minimum Wage regulations. **Ranges reflect what employer reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for such position.

The physical demands for this position are reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical demands may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
