Position Summary

The Shift Leader is responsible for assisting the General Manager or Person In Charge (on duty) with management activities and duties. This role works with the Restaurant Management Team to ensure all activities are aligned with the restaurant's business plan and that all Crew Persons and Team Leaders perform their responsibilities effectively.

Essential Functions
  1. Consistently provides quality products and customer service to ensure total customer satisfaction.
  2. Works to improve the skills and performance of all Crew Persons.
  3. Supports efforts to maximize sales and profits while minimizing controllable costs by assisting management and leading shift activities.
  4. Complies with all company policies and procedures regarding business and personnel practices.
  5. Models and encourages company shared values.
  6. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills with internal and external contacts.
  7. Attends training to stay current on industry trends.
  8. Participates in company meetings, webinars, and conference calls.
  9. Performs other duties or projects as assigned based on business needs.
Position Qualifications/Core Competencies
  • 2-3 years of experience and/or education demonstrating knowledge of restaurant management.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent planning, time management, and team-building skills.
  • Investigative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot cash handling issues.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance.
  • Access to a telephone or reliable communication method.
  • Bi-lingual skills are a plus.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to implement process improvements.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Fast-paced environment with kitchen equipment and tight quarters.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, bend, stoop, and work around heat.
  • Capable of lifting 50-75 lbs comfortably.
  • Work with various cleaning products.
