Job summary

Earthbar is hiring a Shift Lead / Smoothie and Supplement Associate for its Dumbo location inside Equinox Gym. The on-site, part-time role supports store operations and leads shifts when managers are away, delivering exceptional customer service with a focus on nutrition-forward products.

Pay is $19.00 per hour. Benefits include health options for full-time roles, gym privileges, and an employee discount. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and learn recipes and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in food/beverage environments, especially smoothies or specialty beverages.
• Ability to move and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to learn recipes, procedures, and product knowledge.
• Barista or culinary education is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as shift leader in the absence of the GM/AGM, and manage store shifts.
• Promote Earthbar culture, values, and mission with integrity and knowledge.
• Maintain calm operations during high volume periods and ensure safety and sanitation.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and respond to customer needs promptly.
• Follow cash handling, safety, and security procedures.
• Maintain clean and organized workspace and accurate waste/log records.
• Support opening/closing tasks and POS proficiency.

Job Summary and Mission:

This position contributes to the success of Earthbar by providing an exceptional customer service experience to all customers. Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Acting manager of the store in the absence of Assistant General Manager, and General Manager; leading and managing shifts.
• Act with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Earthbar.
• Maintains a calm demeanor, especially during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to Earthbar standard
• Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers cues.
• Delivers exceptional customer service to all customers; responds to customer needs in a timely manner.
• Follows Earthbar operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling, and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all members during each shift.
• Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that other team members can locate products easily.
• Provides quality beverages consistently by adhering to all recipes.
• Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Maintains regular and punctual attendance

Operational Excellence

• Complete daily opening and closing checklist and tasks
• Prepare food and beverages (such as smoothies, juices, acai bowls, toast, lattes) to build guide recipe and standards
• Ensure correct measurements when following all food and drink recipe preparations
• Complete tasks in a timely manner as designated by management
• Stock incoming orders and merchandising product accordingly
• Fill out waste log and other tracking documents
• Wash blenders and kitchen utensils
• Taking timely duty-free meal period(s) and/or rest break(s)
• Be proactive to communicate to management if product is running low
• Comfortable with excessive noise from blenders, juicers, and other equipment
• Fulfill 3rd party and online orders accurately and in a timely manner
• Follow daily and weekly deep cleaning calendar in store
• Contribute and provide feedback for closing manager reports each day
• Proficiency in the use technology and POS systems
• Possess a Food Handlers Certification if required by local ordinance
• Check expiration on made to order and retail product offerings, daily
• Follow all safety and health guidelines
• Conduct sampling events

Qualifications

• Ability to move and or lift up to 50lbs.
• Ability to quickly learn new procedures, processes, and product knowledge
• 1-2 years of experience in food/beverage environments making smoothies, and/or specialty beverages, or experience in retail and hospitality
• Barista, Nutrition, and Culinary education experience a plus!
• Must have (or obtain) a California Food Handlers License (i.e., ServSafe) prior to employment.

• Hours vary Monday-Sunday, early morning to evening shifts
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, with or without reasonable accommodation
