Job summary

Marcus Theatres is seeking a Shift Lead to support theatre management in maintaining daily operations and guest satisfaction. You will act as a first point of contact for guests, coach staff, and assist with policy enforcement to ensure a smooth and efficient theatre experience.

You will help manage show schedules, communicate goals during pre-shift meetings, and assist with process improvements to uphold service standards and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Six months minimum experience in theatre industry.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate goals and provide pre-shift briefings to associates.
  • Assist management by reassigning team members during peak periods.
  • Process refunds, voids, seating swaps, and loyalty points as needed.
  • Reboot POS terminals to ensure 100% operational scanning.
  • Be the first point of contact for guest concerns.
  • Help maintain daily operations and meet Best In Class benchmarks.
  • Assist with projects such as seat repair, training, inventory, and financial planning.

Description
Broad Description of Duties:

Under the direction of the theatre management team, the Shift Lead is responsible for providing support to management as it relates to theatre efficiencies, staff communication and meeting daily goals. A shift lead may serve as a first point of contact for guest concerns and assist with other associate related task such as: coaching, training, and policy enforcement. This position will help ensure an exceptional guest service experience.

This position reports to the General Manager (reporting may vary by location).

Essential Functions/Job Duties:
  • Communicate to associates goals and objectives by conducting pre-shift meetings;
  • Assist management by repositioning team members in areas of need during peak periods and according to show schedules;
  • Process voids, refunds, reserve seating swaps, and issuing loyalty points for guest service reasons;
  • Reboot terminals to ensure scanning is 100% operational;
  • Be the first point contact for guest concerns;
  • Help maintain the quality of daily operations by meeting the “Best In Class” benchmarks, (Smile, Product Quality, Speed of Service, Clean Environment, Promote Value Offerings, Entertainment and Thanking the Guests);
  • Assist with projects which include: seat repair, training, inventory, and financial goal planning/execution;
  • Assist in other duties as assigned by the management team

Job Requirements:
  • Possess strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills;
  • Willing and motivated to learn new skills, tasks, and software systems to meet the changing demands of the industry;
  • Six (6) months minimum experience in theatre industry
Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, and/or walk occasionally. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

Work is performed in an office and theatre environment. The noise level is usually moderate to high with an occasional loud environment. Wearing a face mask is required during scheduled working hours. Education Required:
  • No minimum education required; however, high school diploma or equivalency is preferred
