Job summary

Peet’s Coffee is hiring a Shift Lead to oversee daily operations and lead a small team in a fast-paced setting. You’ll model excellent service, maintain product quality, and guide teammates through opening/closing routines and cash handling.

The role requires at least 1 year in a leadership role and experience with POS systems, with availability three days per week or more. Must be 18+, eligible to work in the United States, and ready to contribute to a welcoming coffeebar culture.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of leadership experience in a team setting.
  • 1 year handling POS/cash transactions in a related industry.
  • Availability to work at least three days per week to meet business needs.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the country where the job is located.
  • Must be 18 years or older and comply with company policies for minors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead shifts with focus and clarity, deploy tasks, and ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences with genuine engagement and high product quality.
  • Foster a positive team environment through clear communication and accountability.
  • Open/close routines, cash handling, inventory tasks, and visual updates during shifts.
  • Learn and adapt to changing priorities while keeping shifts running smoothly.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1 year experience working in a leadership role and/or directing the work of others.
  • 1 year experience with POS/cash handling responsibilities in related industry.
  • Shift Leads are required to maintain a schedule availability of a minimum of three days a week or more that must also meet business needs (business needs can include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays).
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country where this job is located.
  • Must be able to comply with Peet's Employment of Minors policies and work with, among and/or direct the work of minors.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Perform various physical tasks during the work shift. (See Physical Requirements)
