Job summary

Jacksons Food Stores, Inc. is seeking a reliable Shift Lead / Head Cashier at Store 163 in Sparks, NV. The role oversees daily operations during shifts, leads by example, mentors staff, and delivers excellent customer service.

Eligible for a tuition reimbursement program and full-time benefits. Pay starts at $17.00–$18.00 per hour. The ideal candidate will mentor team members, ensure smooth store operations, manage schedules, and support store leadership while complying with all regulations.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays in a 24/7 operation.
• Prior supervisory experience in foodservice or retail preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Lead by example and uphold integrity with the team.
• Collaborate with store leadership to motivate staff and meet goals.
• Adapt quickly to changing store needs and schedules.
• Must meet legal age requirements to sell regulated products (NV).

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide friendly service.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Greet every customer with a smile, thank them for their business, and invite them back.
• Perform cashier duties, including ringing up sales, applying promotions, and ensuring accuracy..
• Provide fast, friendly service and promote store products and services.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including sales floor, coolers, pumps, and foodservice areas.
• Stock, rotate, and label shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Manage food service and beverage programs to maximize sales and compliance.
• Check in vendors and communicate as needed.
• Lead completion of key store tasks and support special projects.
• Assist with schedule adjustments and communicate changes to the Store Manager.
• Partner with Store and Assistant Managers to coach and motivate team members.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (alcohol, tobacco, Lotto, etc.).
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Our stores require flexible availability for a 24/7 operation (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
• Prior supervisory experience in foodservice or retail strongly preferred.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, can-do attitude.
• Lead by example and integrity in every action.
• A team player mindset-working together to get the job done.
• Ability to think on your feet and adapt quickly to change.
• Must meet legal age requirements to sell regulated products (alcohol, tobacco)

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and twist; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk and listen.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds.
• Work safely in work conditions that include heat, cold, allergen, noise, and fume/chemical/odor from gasoline and cleaning chemicals.
