Job summary

Jacksons Food Stores in Idaho is seeking a Shift Lead / Head Cashier. You will oversee daily operations during assigned shifts, lead by example, mentor team members, handle cashier duties, and ensure excellent customer service and store compliance.

This is a full-time opportunity with growth potential. Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating schedules, checking in vendors, and promoting products while maintaining a clean, compliant store environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly, thank them, and invite return visits.
• Perform cashier duties: ringing sales, applying promotions, accuracy.
• Provide fast, friendly service and promote store products.
• Maintain store cleanliness across sales floor, coolers, pumps, and foodservice areas.
• Stock, rotate, and label shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Manage food service and beverage programs to maximize sales.
• Check in vendors and communicate as needed.
• Lead completion of key store tasks and support special projects.
• Assist with schedule adjustments and communicate changes to management.
• Coach and motivate team members with Store/Asst. Managers.
• Ensure compliance with alcohol, tobacco, Lotto, etc. regulations.

• Provide fast, friendly service and promote store products and services.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including sales floor, coolers, pumps, and foodservice areas.
• Stock, rotate, and label shelves, coolers, and displays.
• Manage food service and beverage programs to maximize sales and compliance.
• Check in vendors and communicate as needed.
• Lead completion of key store tasks and support special projects.
• Assist with schedule adjustments and communicate changes to the Store Manager.
• Partner with Store and Assistant Managers to coach and motivate team members.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (alcohol, tobacco, Lotto, etc.).
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and twist; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk and listen.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds.
• Work safely in work conditions that include heat, cold, allergen, noise, and fume/chemical/odor from gasoline and cleaning chemicals.
