Job summary

Chattanooga Goodwill is seeking a Shift Lead to supervise store staff, coach associates, and ensure excellent donor/customer service. You will uphold safety policies, maintain store standards, and assist with records and meetings.

A strong background in retail or service, plus supervisory experience, is preferred. Responsibilities include greeting donors, resolving complaints, training teammates, and ensuring daily operations run smoothly while adhering to agency guidelines and health/safety

Qualifications

  • High School degree or GED, preferred.
  • Prior retail experience or customer service experience preferred.
  • 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; bilingual a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Able to adapt to growth and a changing environment within the Agency.
  • Ability to complete CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Reliable transportation and communication required.
  • Available to work during operating hours; includes days, evenings, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise store personnel during shift to ensure operational standards are met.
  • Develop, train, coach, and support store associates for career growth.
  • Greet, assist, and provide excellent customer service to donors and customers.
  • Assist and resolve complaints and communicate issues to management.
  • Maintain store appearance and housekeeping to agency standards.
  • Perform and assist in all functions completed by store personnel; attend meetings and training as required.
  • Review safety policies and report unsafe conditions or injuries immediately.

Violation of confidentiality may be cause for termination.Punctual and dependable attendance.Supervise all store personnel as applicable during assigned shift to ensure operational standards are met.Develop, train, coach, and support store associates for career growth within the organization.Comply with agency policies and Donated Goods Retail standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the agency’s safety and security policies and procedures.Greet, assist, and provide excellent customer service to donors and customers.Assist and resolve any complaints and communicate complaints and issues to the management team.Maintain proficiency for tasks required in all workstations.Monitor and maintain overall store appearance and housekeeping to agency standards.Perform and assist in all functions completed by store personnel.Support in maintaining all company records and reports accurately and in a timely fashion.Attend all meetings and training as required by the agency.Review and be familiar with Goodwill Industries of the Greater Chattanooga Area safety policies, programs and procedures and adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and safety codes. Attend safety training and meetings and report any unsafe work conditions, accidents, or injuries immediately.Perform other duties as assigned.Key Knowledge and Experience:High School degree or GED, preferred.Prior retail experience or customer service/ relations experience preferred.6 months supervisory experience preferred.Must have excellent oral and written communication skills in English as well as interpersonal skills, bilingual a plus.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.Must be able to adapt to growth and a changing environment within the Agency.Ability to complete and maintain: CPR and First Aid certifications.Reliable transportation and communication required.Must be available to work during operating business hours as needed for business operations.
