Job summary

Le Pain Quotidien in California is hiring a Shift Lead to deliver warm, attentive guest service and lead daily operations. You will manage orders, assist in kitchen and bar areas, and maintain pastry, bread, beverage, and retail knowledge.

This role supports a team-focused environment with opportunities to grow within Convive Brands. Ideal candidates have 3–6 months of restaurant experience, familiarity with Toast, and a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience with POS systems, especially Toast.
• Flexibility in schedule preferred.
• Cross-training in dining room and retail space helpful.
• Speak/read/understand the primary language(s) of the work location.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and attentive service to all guests throughout the visit.
• Receive food and beverage orders, enter into POS, follow up with kitchen as needed.
• Anticipate guest needs and note preferences.
• Maintain knowledge of pastry, bread, kitchen, beverage, and retail items.
• Prepare drinks for dining room as needed.
• Handle guest situations with empathy and elevate to a manager as necessary.
• Complete opening, mid, and closing procedures; daily checklist and side work.
• Organize money and receipts per cash handling policy.
• Keep restaurant areas clean and organized per cleaning checklists.
• Set up patio furniture and outdoor fixtures if applicable.
