Job summary

Hecla Mining Company seeks an E&I Technician, Surface to maintain electrical and instrumentation systems at surface facilities. You will troubleshoot, repair, and install equipment, collaborating with engineering and operations to minimize downtime and ensure safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems, schematic reading, and PLC/DCS/SCADA familiarity, with travel to various surface sites in the United States.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance.
• Reading and interpreting electrical and instrumentation schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to surface sites within the United States.
• Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Instrumentation, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment at surface facilities.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, control panels, instrumentation devices, and related components.
• Install new electrical and instrumentation equipment according to engineering specifications and industry standards.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly, minimizing operational disruptions.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status for compliance and reporting.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements while performing all tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various surface sites within the United States as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Instrumentation, or a related field.
• Experience working in the oil and gas, energy, or industrial manufacturing sectors.
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and SCADA systems.
• Certification in electrical safety, such as NFPA 70E or OSHA electrical safety training.
• Strong computer skills including proficiency with maintenance management software and diagnostic tools.
