Job summary

Atlas Copco Group in Hamburg, New Jersey is seeking a proactive Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) Coordinator to develop and sustain safety programs, conduct inspections, audits, and training, and support regulatory compliance to foster a safe, compliant workplace.

You will collaborate with site management and HR to drive corrective actions, track KPIs, and promote continuous improvement across multi-location operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety, preferably in a multi-location setting.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, ISO 9001/14001/45001 standards, and best practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement SHEQ policies and local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels.
• Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to SHEQ activities.
• Monitor KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of SHEQ programs and initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SHEQ considerations into daily operations.
• Serve as the secondary point of contact for regulatory agencies, auditors, and external stakeholders.
• Facilitate open communication to promote employee engagement in safety initiatives.
• Organize information sharing events and safety meetings to raise awareness and maintain a pro-active safety culture.
• Oversee chemical inventory and SDS tracking.
• Collaborate with Site management and HR to ensure coordination of safety initiatives and onboarding.
