Montgomery County is seeking an Animal Control professional to support the veterinary team in a busy shelter environment. You will assist in high-volume spay/neuter surgeries, perform diagnostic testing, manage controlled substances, and help coordinate animal transport and care.

Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential for daily operations. Starting at a $24.45 hourly rate, candidates should have an AVMA-accredited program and be prepared to obtain state licenses.

Formación

• Requires AVMA accredited two-year program completion.
• Background check required prior to employment.
• Ability to obtain TN euthanasia license.
• TN euthanasia certification must be obtained within 6 months.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure supplies are available and communicated per procedures.
• Assist Shelter Veterinarian with high-volume spay/neuter surgeries and clinics.
• Manage inventory and distribution of controlled drugs used for surgeries and euthanasia.
• Prepare animals for surgery, monitor vitals, and assist post-operative recovery.
• Perform diagnostic tests as requested by the veterinarian.
• Collect samples for diagnostic testing (blood, feces, urine).
• Maintain clean, disinfected work areas and enter data into shelter software.
• Monitor shelter animals for illness and report to veterinarian.
• Collaborate with staff to care for animals and coordinate transport.
