Job summary

Joybound is seeking a licensed veterinarian to provide surgery, dentistry and medical care for shelter dogs and cats in Walnut Creek, supporting public spay/neuter and community clinics.

You will perform high-volume spay/neuter, dental procedures, exams, and collaborate with staff to maintain standards of care; you will train junior clinicians and document medical records for adopters.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited College of Veterinary Medicine and license to practice in California.
• Two years’ experience doing high-volume, high-quality spay and neuter (HVHQSN) preferred.
• Experience with shelter medicine and nonprofit programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, high-volume spay and neuter surgery for shelter guests and public patients, onsite and on mobile units.
• Support dental procedures for shelter and public patients.
• Provide veterinary medical care including exams, diagnostics, and treatment plans.
• Maintain complete medical records with disclosures for adopters.
• Train externs and interns in shelter medicine techniques and wellness.
