Job summary

Marin Humane in Novato seeks a Shelter Veterinarian to deliver high-quality medical care to shelter animals, perform spay/neuter and other soft-tissue surgeries, support vaccination clinics and diagnostics, and guide treatment plans to improve health, welfare, and adoptability.

Qualifications include a DVM or equivalent, eligibility for California veterinary license + DEA license, and 2–3 years of private practice or shelter medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care, diagnosis, and treatment for shelter animals.

• Support vaccination clinics and diagnostic testing (x-ray, blood work, cytology).
• Collaborate cross-departmentally to support animal health and welfare decisions.
• Supervise and mentor Veterinary Assistants.
• Participate in humane euthanasia decisions in accordance with policy and law.
• Maintain accurate medical records and compliance standards.

What You’ll Do
