Job summary

Maui Humane Society is seeking a Pet Resources Specialist to be the primary point of contact for walk-ins and shelter inquiries, delivering compassionate, non-judgmental service to the community.

You will process data and payments, assist with intakes (including surrender and euthanasia), document animal behavior, and coordinate transport and cremation preparations with the shelter team. Commitment to animal welfare is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service communication skills - externally and internally.
• High comfort in interacting with animals.
• Ability to use multiple computer programs efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Provide a positive community experience in all transactions.
• Process data and payments in shelter software.
• Intake animals being surrendered - including for euthanasia.
• Document animal behavior and transport animals throughout the shelter.
• Coordinate high volume surgery scheduling and intake.
• Prepare animals for cremation.
