Job summary

Salvation Army A Georgia Corp seeks a dedicated shelter associate to assist residents overnight and conduct intake procedures. You will prepare intake records and monitor residents on your shift to ensure safety and compliance with house rules.

Responsibilities include maintaining orderly records, coordinating housekeeping, controlling cooking and food inventory, and reporting relevant information to the supervisor and Corps Officer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid State Driver’s License preferred.
• Food Handlers Certification or ability to obtain within timeframe.
• CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within timeframe.

• Maintains neat, complete logs and records; reports pertinent information to supervisor.
• Oversees housekeeping, meal inventory, and building security; assists with cooking tasks.

Assists residents staying in the Corps shelter overnight; performs client intake procedures and prepares client intake records; monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security, and compliance to house rules; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; ensures that facility is maintained in a neat and proper order. reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor or Corps Officer.Key Responsibilities:Supervisory Responsibilities (10%)Intake and Discharge Responsibilities (25%)Housekeeping and Chore Distribution Responsibilities (25%)Building Security Responsibilities (20%)Cooking and Food Inventory Responsibilities (20%)Physical Requirements:Ability to meet attendance requirements.Ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively.Ability to perform data entry into a computer.Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action.Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing and walking on a frequent change basis.
