Job summary

The Salvation Army in Tyler, TX is seeking a Shelter Supervisor to oversee overnight resident supervision, handle intake procedures, and ensure safety and compliance with house rules.

The role includes supervising staff during shifts, coordinating housekeeping, managing building security, and overseeing cooking and food inventory. A high school diploma and relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of security or social service experience preferred.
• Valid State Driver’s License preferred.
• Food Handlers Certification or ability to obtain within timeframe.
• CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Oversee intake and discharge procedures.

Schedule/Hours: M-F (40 hours per week)Assists residents staying in the shelter overnight; performs client intake procedures and prepares client intake records; monitors the activity of residents on assigned shift, ensuring safety, security, and compliance with house rules; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; ensures that the facility is maintained in a neat and proper order.Key Responsibilities:Supervisory Responsibilities: (10%)Intake and discharge responsibilities: (25%)Housekeeping and chore distribution responsibilities (25%)Building Security Responsibilities (20%)Cooking and food inventory responsibilities (20%)Physical Requirements and Working Conditions;Duties are usually performed seated.
