Job summary

New Avenues for Youth is seeking a Manager for our Shelter Program to lead a team serving youth in crisis. The role is scheduled Monday–Friday, 2:00pm–10:30pm, and focuses on crisis guidance, program delivery, and collaborative improvement.

The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience with high-risk youth, a commitment to equity, and strong communication and organizational skills. A comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth are included.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of supervisory background.
• Minimum two years of experience working with high-risk youth.
• Experience and commitment to working with sexual minority and culturally diverse staff, participants and community.
• Excellent communication, organization, creativity, flexibility, optimism and interpersonal skills.
• Strong decision making and critical thinking skills.
• Valid driver’s license, access to an automobile, and active auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Be a leader: Guide and coach team members in providing critical services to youth, train and onboard staff, and facilitate team meetings and trainings.
• Ensure safety: maintain and oversee overall safety of shelter spaces and ensure compliance with licensing.
• Work collaboratively: partner with leadership to support team cohesion and continuous improvement of services for youth.
• Document the journey: support the team in maintaining accurate records and documentation.

• Valid driver's license, access to an automobile, and active auto insurance
