Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) seeks a Manager, Animal Experiences to lead and develop staff, coach supervisors, and drive our customer and volunteer experience. You will supervise operations, ensure safety, and promote an inclusive culture aligned with our mission and values.

This role emphasizes coaching, performance management, scheduling oversight, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality service and program outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory or people management role in fast-paced, multi-priority environments; preferably in animal welfare or customer service.
• Demonstrated success coaching and developing high-performing teams.
• Dedication to animal welfare and ability to work in an emotional field with empathy.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support staff including supervisors through regular check-ins, performance management, goal setting, and development.
• Foster an inclusive, respectful work culture where staff feel heard, valued, and supported.
• Manage hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and staffing to ensure coverage and sustainable operations.
• Support employee growth, address performance issues, and uphold policies and values.
