Job summary

CENTRAL ARIZONA SHELTER SERVICES INC. is seeking a Custodian to maintain a clean, sanitary, and welcoming shelter environment for residents. This role is physically demanding and requires reliability, attention to detail, and a positive, can-do attitude.

The Custodian will clean dorms, showers, offices, and communal spaces, including biohazard cleanup with proper PPE. Flexible hours, safety protocols, and a strong work ethic are essential.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a shelter, healthcare, nursing home, or skilled nursing environment is highly preferred
• Ability to work flexible hours between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM, including varied days of the week
• Reliable, dependable, and punctual
• Positive, "get it done" attitude with strong work ethic
• Comfortable with physically demanding tasks and biohazard cleanup
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize dorms, bathrooms, showers, and communal areas
• Perform biohazard cleanup with appropriate PPE
• Sweep, mop, dust, polish windows, clean cabinets, and maintain office areas
• Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed
• Ensure all tasks are completed efficiently, thoroughly, and according to schedule
• Adapt to daily operational needs and pitch in wherever necessary
• Follow all safety and infection control protocols
