Responsibilities

• Removes waste, cleans, and sanitizes each kennel in the facility every morning.
• Assures water is always available and feeds animals daily at designated times.
• Practices proper animal handling and care per shelter standards.
• Assists with euthanizing animals if needed for health, behavior, or other reasons established by management.
• Provide customer service to citizens reclaiming animals, adopting, purchasing registration, or gathering education information.
• Intakes animals following shelter procedures and city ordinance.
• Provides information on spay/neuter, vaccinations, animal care, housing, food, and health needs.
• Socializes with sheltered animals in open play areas.
• Assesses temperament for canine interactions.
• Documents canine behavior/temperament during human interactions.
• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
