Job summary

Harnett County’s animal shelter is seeking a dedicated team member to care for housed animals, support adoptions, and assist the public. Responsibilities include intake processing, photo postings, vaccination tasks, and records maintenance.

The role requires a high school diploma, animal-related experience or Vet Tech credentials, and a NC driver’s license. On-site work with after-hours availability is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associates degree or Vet Tech certification preferred.
• One year of related experience with animals preferred.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license required; CRV/ET certifications possible within one year.

Responsibilities

• Clean and care for animals in the shelter.
• Assist the public and visitors; answer inquiries.
• Intake animals, photograph for website, and maintain animal data records.
• Administer vaccines and deworming; assist rabies testing.
• Encourage adoptions; process paperwork and microchips.
• Performs euthanasia as needed.
• Maintain supplies and inventory; restock.
• Work after hours as needed.
